Yes it is horrible. Very depressing to, as I watch it pile up and get disgusting. This should be a part of the marriage contract. I have found that if I can't do it myself, it never gets done well and it puts more stress on me and causes me to be more depressed. Since my husband does not work and chooses to do little around the house, he has all day to trash it up. How sick is that? Then I get too depressed to do it. Then I have to spend my time getting it done, just to see him throw the crap around again. Will this cycle ever end? I doubt it, but something better happen soon so that people like you and I don't go bonkers. There has to be more to life than worrying about cleaning. I have made a vow to myself sort of ...to have a big yard sale and rid my house of all the extras so there is less to vacuum around and to dust. Plus I can save the extra money and worry. Hopefully God will intercede in this and help me get back to who I use to be. Good luck to you and your circumstances.

I'm with you on this one and if you DARE to ask more than once you get accused of nagging! If someone did what you asked them to do the first time you wouldn't have to ask again. You can prevent yourself from being nagged by doing what you are asked the first time!

Yep, a guy at work just point blank refuses to do what I ask him and then stares at me as if I've asked him something ridiculous - fool! (A polite version of what I was going to call him).

Are you talking about your kids? Don't do their washing anymore, let their rooms get in a state and they won't have any nice clean clothes to wear. They wouldn't want to go to school smelly. You don't have to go in their rooms, they'd soon get sick of it. Are you a housewife? or do you work as well as your partner. Sorry my mistake, I didn't notice your name was James! Anyway, just refuse to do their stuff, just do the stuff that belongs to you.

As you get older you will see that taking pride in your home and doing what it takes to keep things in order can be an accomplishment to you. Give up nagging and just do the work yourself, you'll accomplish more by just getting it done. Its just something that you have to do, resign yourself to it and have peace in your family.

If you are talking about your children, you don't ask them to do it, You Tell them. If you are talking about your spouse, when they get tired of living in filth they will clean up.
P.S: Do you always do what your spouse ask you to do? If not you really don't have a right to complain.

That's when you tell them to do something...then when they do not do it then take away something they like...or better yet, tell them that if you are forced to, you will pull some Kung Fu out on them!
