Jer 10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
Not Christmas trees but trees of worship.
Why not Christmas trees? A lot of Christians say we don’t use the old testament but that is a cop out Jesus did just like Christians eat pork and Jesus said I have not come to change the law and did not eat pork let me just say I am not attacking Christians just trying to learn. I am only 14. Seek and you will find ask and it will be given to you.

This is why we don't put up a Christmas tree. And when my inlaws found out that we didn't put one up, they freaked. "You can't have Christmas without a tree", they said. That just solidified it for us, because it was almost like an idol to them.

Jesus said all foods a Clean there are no long any foods unclean...as far as your christmas question when it talks about the craftsmen cutting the trees and decorating them it doesnt mean the chop the tree down and stand it upright and adorn it with stuff like we do a chrisman tree what it means is the literally cut into wood from a tree and make idols out of it...like statues of someone or something the carve into wood of a tree..but it doesnt look like a tree when the finish it looks like whatever they carved..

No, it refers back to the creation of wood idols that have been overlaid with gold and silver and set with priceless stones. in case you will examine the *finished* passage, you will see that it talks concerning to the carver utilising component of the wood for a hearth, yet falling down earlier an idol created from a similar wood and calling it his god. And in any journey, Christmas= "Christ's Mass." there became no Christ or Christmas while Jeremiah became alive and for this reason no Christmas tree.

Christmas was originally the "Winter Soltice", a pagan holiday. This is where Santa, Trees and stockings come from.
It was changed to Christmas (Christ's Mass) by the Roman Catholics as the day to celebrate Christ's birth (he wasn't really born on December 25). They chose that day to rival the pagan holiday.
The Bible is saying to "Be NOT like the Pagans". Some Christians take this verse as a rule to NOT celebrate Christmas. Afterall, Jesus never instructs us to celebrate his birth or his death. Instead he instructs us to do communion. He said "Do THIS in remembrance of me". Thus celebrating Christmas is "adding to God's word" which is a sin.
Other Christians feel that it's no big deal. By celebrating Jesus on that day does not make us pagan and therefore that rule does not apply to us.
Although Mr. Callahan (see below me) makes a good point in this instance, I advise you to stay away from the watchtower website he offers. That is of the Jehovah's Witnesses. They offer a different Gospel than Biblical Christianity.

He talking about making wooden idols, not nailing a tree to the floor. He prohibts cutting down a tree, carving it into a wooden idol, decorating it with gold and silver overlay, and setting it up on a stand in your house.
And his whole point is that an idol is nothing - there in one God.

Isn't this something like digging a mote out of ones' eye while ignoring the beam. Is it really a god to people?
Please there are plenty of people who would give up their Christmas tree in a minute rather than the car they drive, or the designer signature on their clothing....
Good Luck & Blessings

It does, but churchianity does not want to accept it, because it would upset the pagans who come, and they are the majority. Churchianity is not a repository of truth. There is an Almighty one YHVH, and He sent His Son, and the Messiah's name means YHVH is my Savior, so it is YAHOSHUA! See Ex.23:13 about using pagan names.

The added 'dose' of a Christmas tree was not relevant at the time.

He was waiting for the plastic trees to go on sale. The live trees are messy and a fire hazard.
