A year ago in March I took a radioactive pill to kill my thyroid glands. I still feel them, and I`m still having serious problems with thyroid level.

That pill wasn't to kill your thyroid glands, you took it for the thyroid scan test, its called a marker,so the gland will show up,and they can study the up-take time.A killer radioactive pill that strong would kill the patient,as well as the body organ. You need to see your Doctor if your having such problems, the sooner the better complications are serious, you're "feeling" the thyroid gland again because they have enlarged, not something to play around with. Take care. SW RNP

I had to take a radio active pill for them to check my thyroid by scanning it.
They killed off your thyroid....so I'm assuming that they put you on hormones right? If not then they should have. The thyroid is an importent part of your body, it produces hormones. When your hormone level goes awrey due to thyroid disorders and diseases it can cause many problems. I have hyperthyroidism. Before I was diagnosed my immune system was almost non existant to the point where was developing infection under my skin that produced boils. It was horrible.
I'm assuming you had hyperthyroidism seeing as how you chose to kill it off. I hope that it was your choice and they didn't just tell you it was the only thing to do. I didn't want to be on hormones all my life....so I chose to try to get it under control first. After a year and 1/2 mine was at normal level again going from 92% THS level to between 31% and 35%.
I really don't understand what problems you are having but I really hope they put you on hormones....if they didn't then that may be the problem. The radio active pill should have been in your system for only 48 hours at the most if I recall correctly.
If they did not give you a choice between correcting your level though meds and killing it off and decided for you....I'd give them hell and ask a lot of questions.
If you have any more questions I may be able to help. You can contact me through yahoo 360 or PM me.
I'm curious myself about what's going on. Please update.
Take care.
