NEVER NEVER NEVER buy from a pet store - you will pay TOO MUCH for a low quality pup AND support the very cruel industry of Puppy Mills, where pups are created only for profit with little regard to nothing else (eg. so they cut corners with care and temperment concerns.. very cruel its sickening)
pet stores will tell you their pups are not from puppy mills BUT no Reputable breeder would EVER sell to a pet store.

ok so where to find them? talk to your groomer, vet, dog club, ask if they know a breeder in the area. If not - go online and look them up, or pick up a DOG MAGAZINE from the store and check out the ads in that - usually they have a BREEDER list at the back of the magazines.

You have to distinguish between good breeder and bad.
A good breeder will ONLY have purebreds and not more than 2 breeds of dogs total. They will have shown the parents to PROVE they are good dogs worthy of breeding - they will ask YOU lots of questions as well and probably you will have to wait for the next litter.

A bad breeder breeds dogs of inferior quality (no show records) but they often price the dogs teh same as a good breeder who has invested time into the dogs.
