What is it about the smell of vomit that makes you want to vomit even if you are not sick? I don't get it!

I don't know but did you know that the chemical in vomit that causes it to smell is also the same chemical that is present in parmesean cheese that makes IT smell? I heard that on the news and have never looked at parmesean cheese the same since...

I think here it is more mental way to cause your body to repeat something that other one is doing. The reason why i say that is because you may not be sick but when you look at someone throw up, their face expression, their vomit, the way it smells and looks and memories of how it feels you have that stomach upsetting condition to appear that you feel like throwing up too. LOL Its hard to explain, but if a horse shits all over something you standing next to and trust me horses do it loads and just push it out like diarrea you will throw up form that too. So it is not necessarily vomit or its smell. Why people feel sick when they are at morgue? Why people get sick watching rotten.com? Why people get sick watching extreme surgeries or tapes of Shocking Asia? So it is just nasty overall and it doesnt have to be vomit.

It is in your mind. It is because the smell triggers the sense you had when you yourself have thrown up and it reminds your brain to get rid of the vomit. How do you get rid of it? By vomiting.

it;s weird i know,,if i vomited it comes out my nose and mouth smell it for days,i wash my nose i put perfume up there and it takes at least 6days yo get the smell out of there.in those days i can;t taste or even want to eat/and to have that nasty smell 24/7 for days very GROSS,,LOL

it's because of the acid in your stomach. It mixes and when it comes out in all it's glory..you get a whiff of that too.
