Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing? I have some affirmations I go over every day, but I'm not sure if it's working.

I focused on going to work, and I manifested a paycheck. So it's true, but not in a literal sense.

You have to believe and have faith to your affirmations. I do mind a 100 or 200 times, I use my fingers as a guide 1to 10 on my left hand 10 to 1 on my right hand until I reach a hundred.When you say the words of affirmations you have to feel the words. It is hard the first time,but you will get use to it and it's fun,I do it every where when I have time .read some books of Ernest Holmes,Louise L. Hay, and Venice Bloodworth. Yes it is true it will manifest ,every thing is the result of thought,before anything material can exist it must be in the mind of a person creating it. I really would like to help you on this.

It is true - but affirmations are not necessarily the right way to go about it.
There are three steps to manifestation: thought, word, and deed. All three must be aligned for it to happen, and the 'deed' part means putting something into action and is actually the most powerful of the three steps.
Words alone will not bring you something. You must have some clarity on it, and you must physically put things in motion yourself.

I used a form of this to keep myself from smoking when I stopped. I had to keep picture myself a healthier individual. I believe that this helped quite a bit. if you go to http://thesecret.tv they give a lot more information and exercises on how to do this.
