First would be trust funds for all 11 of my grandkids for college expenses-done in a way that if they chose not to go to college, they couldn't access it for other things until they reached age 30. Then I would have myself a log home built on the site where I currently live in a small mobile home. Would also look into ways to help others who need homes or education assistance to improve their situation.

I'd take the money and spend it!!!!! I mean what else can you do with it? There are a number of good ways to spend it... you can set up a lifelong account to live on the interest then take what is left over and help honest charities, play the big time roller, buy the decent things in life, get a Rolls Royce, pay for a good house and it doesn't have to be a monster house either. Just a good house. Get a cottage where you want it.And when or if the excess monies you have is spent then you have the investment you set aside in the beginning to fall back on and you can slow down and live life in comfort.

What a wonderful idea! The person asking the question was so excited that he/she wrote 'won' twice! All the answers that I've seen are great and of course we would all want to cover our debts, set up financial shelters for our family and enjoy the good life.
However a key part of the whole process is getting 'Sudden Money' as it's called is to get the right kind of financial planning and support. Otherwise one can burn through as whole lot of money without clear direction or wisdom.
I recently came across a very useful article on this subject in the Articles section of Gamblux.com. Let me share this link with you:

be happy for once. buy a horse . buy a small house one level.
repair my car completely paint and all then give it away free.
travel get a small boat . oh and hire 30 or so hot bi girls to put on a show for me and let me join in .
then i would put the money in the bank investments and live off the interest.
as well i would give some not too much but say 10000 to each family member.

Depends on how much money. Hopefully enough to fix the house, buy a car that works well, and retire on.

If it was enough, I'd take my wife on a world cruise, pay off my kids debts, and generally have a good time.
