Ricky Rudd - he taped his eyes "open" after receiving two black eyes from a flip in the Busch Clash. He was driving car #15 WRANGLER Ford Thunderbird owned by Bud Moore, and managed to place 7th in the Daytona 500 one lap down from the leaders. In 1983 that car was driven by Dale Earnhardt.

Ricky Rudd...
He had crashed a week or so before the race in the "Busch Clash." He finished 7th and the next week he went on to finish 1st for the 3rd time since he had been in Nascar .
He was also driving for Rick Hendrick...

It was Ricky Rudd, and because his eyes were so swollen he taped his eyes open, so he could drive the race.
