I came across this scripture verse John 4:23 24. Jesus states," Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will will worship the Father in Spirit and Truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit and his worshippers must worship in spirit and truth. What really caught my eyes is the part that the Father is seeking people to worship Him. To worship, to love and have reverance for Him. Are you one that He is seeking? What does Spirit and Truth mean to you?

Why does God have to "seek" anyone? Doesn't he know all and see all? Isn't he supposed to be everywhere at every time? The idea that he has to go around looking for people shows that he is not omniscient or omnipresent. In Genesis, Adam hid from him and he had to call out "Adam, where are you?" Then later, he heard rumors of a big tower being built and said "I will go down and see whether this is true," or words to that effect (Tower of Babel story). Does any of this sound like decriptions of a deity who knows all, sees all, and is everywhere? Sounds to me like a god who is just the way humans would imagine him to be, with the same limitations they have (except with some magic powers that they don't have). BibleGod was created in the image of his worshippers.

Nope.
I'm a follower of the old Gods, the Goddess and God who seek people who have strenght to stand up, do what is right. To do what they were put here to do. To take care of the Earth, the disadvantated. To learn who we are and what our purpose is.

No disrespect meant toward your religion, but I need to stand for my own.

I'm not difficult to find.

Spirit is rather a vague notion, vague to the point of being nearly meaningless, and Truth is unknowable.

If your God is omnipotent he could make everyone worship him if that's what he wants.

So either;

a) God is not omnipotent and the Bible is wrong. or,

b) God doesn't want everyone to worship him and the Bible is wrong.

Simply select option a) or b).

Lets not forget the old chestnut that "God works in mysterious ways"

he isn't looking for me, he's avoiding me.
to me truth is the reality i perceive, and spirit is my sense of being, or my identity as i feel it.

If there were a God, wouldn't he be "seeking" everyone?
