Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
John 16:23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full."

Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-18 ( this doesn't say the words but if you read it, it tells you the power they have) Luke 9:1; Mark 3:14-19; Mark 6:7-13; and the list goes on. Use a chain reference Bible or a concordance to help you find more. Gotta go. Luke 24:49; John 14:12-14; Acts 1:7&8; Acts 2:4 (the promise of the Holy Spirit which giveth them power from on high) I am sure there are many more scriptures, the apostles did many miracles and wonders, proof that they did indeed receive power from God, proof of the Holy Spirit is that they spoke in tongues. Hope this helps.

i think of i'm given a quote from a e book written by skill of a guy an prolonged time in the past, which became prevalent by skill of yet another team of adult males (those books no longer prevalent have been destroyed). in many situations this expenses are taken out of context to greater healthful a sparkling which skill. occasion: e book of Daniel -> became probable written approximately activities that already got here approximately. Armageddon = Mount of Megiddo... an actual, actual place, which has a background of many historical battles. i've got had too a lot of people tell me Armageddon = something Bush is doing, or something Obama will do, that don't comprehend while the e book became written or why. Any intro point faith classification (at an academic college) can bypass in a techniques greater desirable intensity, in case you do no longer have faith you. i do no longer think of faith will ever die out, or if it does that's going to take an truly long term. It teaches stable morals, and provides us wish and a reason at the back of being right here. Too a lot of people could under no circumstances be waiting to settle for in user-friendly terms scientific solutions, which could under no circumstances answer the philosophical questions like 'the which skill of existence.'

Jesus did not give man in general this authority, but rather the apostles and then the first anointed members of the Christian congregation which the apostle laid hands on. These powers ceased with the death of the last apostle, John. You can gain accurate knowledge with intense Bible study...
Acts 17: 11: "Now the latter were more noble-minded than those in Thes·sa·lo·ni´ca, for they received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so."
1 John 4:1: " Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world."
1 Corinthians 13: 8-13: " Love never fails. But whether there are [gifts of] prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will be done away with. 9 For we have partial knowledge and we prophesy partially; 10 but when that which is complete arrives, that which is partial will be done away with. 11 When I was a babe, I used to speak as a babe, to think as a babe, to reason as a babe; but now that I have become a man, I have done away with the [traits] of a babe. 12 For at present we see in hazy outline by means of a metal mirror, but then it will be face to face. At present I know partially, but then I shall know accurately even as I am accurately known. 13 Now, however, there remain faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

Jesus gives Peter the authority of Eliakim. (Isaiah 22:22)
Matthew 16:18-19. Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatsoever you bind on eath will be bound in heaven, and whatsoever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Jesus gives the disciples the authority to forgive sins.
John 20:22-23. Jesus said, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you." And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins they are forgiven: if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."
Paul calls the church the pillar and foundation of the truth.
I Tim. 3:15. I am writing these instructions so that you will know how people are to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

It was the Holy Priesthood after the Son of God that was given to the Apostles. Through this priesthood, man could act in true authority of God's will, to preach, heal, and perform miracles at times.
That same authoritative priesthood is with us today, but not with all churches.

Jesus gaves His disciples the authority to forgive or retain sins in John 20: 21-23 -
(Jesus) said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained

2 points!
(It is SOO ironic for a christian to accuse someone else of "wasting their time, when they themselves are guilty of the exact same thing. )
