Pleas only seious answers, I know my situation might sound entertaining to someone, but this girl is the love of my life, and I need all the help I can get. My girlfriend and I have been together for nearly 5 years, we started dating as fresman in highschool and we are both freshman in college now. She goes to a school about an hour away from me, and just recently she brought it to my attention that she has began thinking of me as more of just a good friend, and not a boyfriend. I am still madly in love with her. Lately we have had a few disagreements, but nothing to break up over, she even said that those disagreements had nothing to do with it. I don't know if she has found someone else and just doesn't want to tell me, or if we're just drifting apart. If anyone has any input on why she might have these change in feelings, or what I can do to get her back, please let me know, I am very desperate. Thank you in advance for any response I get.

i have come to the conclusion that our relationship has always been a little different. we always acted like friends, u know we went to concerts together, we wakeboarded to together, played 1 on 1 basketball together. we both kind of treated eachotehr like friends. im not saying we didnt act like boyfriend girlfriend sometimes, like at night we would go to dinner together or watch a movie, but i think in the long run, thats whats in her head is the friendship side. i dont know if it will help, but im going to try to be more boyfriend like when she's around me, and not so friend like. she has told me that she still loves me, just not the same. and she wants to try to make it work because we've had some great times together, i dont know if this insight helps at all with your answering. and i know the easiest way would be to let her go, but im looking for optomistic views, if someone could give me ideas of things to do, anything, places to go or whatever that would make her feel great.

if this girl was the love of your life you wouldn't be asking...5 years is enough time to figure it out.she may be getting in the way of your real true love...good luck!

There are some good answers. But as I have previous experiences. The best thing to do in this situation is using the jealousy factor or showing that you've moved on and a built a life of your own, you must show her that you can go on without her and if she really loves you deep inside, she will understand what she is losing and may come back to you.

But do not forget that the only person, you can control on the world is yourself. Dont try to change her mind, change yourself and she may change her mind, if she doesnt, it's her loss and she doesnt deserve you anyway.

Its over pal! No biggie..move on. I'm sure you both have changed since you first started dating and maybe its time to see if someone else better fits your needs. Who knows, you both may find that you were, and are, the perfect match. In that case you will end up back together. But don't limit yourself yet. Your girl wants out so respect those feelings and walk away with your head held high.

dont bug her, she just wants some breathing space. i mean since high school. she has forgotten that she loves u. the secret is to make her miss u. bounce for a second, go somewhere. change ur style a lil. grow up. be a different person next time u see her. girls do this. u cant be all over her. she still loves u. the good news is that she will always love u. no man will replace u. just chill for a minute switch ur style up n make a come back.

ok wow all I had to read was that she is now a freshman in college, sometimes in that period in college you began to question everything and want to experience new things, so even though you may not want to hear this now....if you really love her and love yourself you'll let her go so the both of you can experience life....I mean you learn so many things about yourself in college, you may not be the same person when you leave and she may not either, so being friends actually isn't a bad thing thing. It may hurt a little but you'll be ok

Going to college a hour apart could be a big factor. She may want to experience the whole college package, which includes frat parties, dating guys, and such. She doesn’t really have that option since she is with you, and she may feel guilty about it. You should sit down and talk about this. But if she is really the love of your life you will support her in whatever decisions she makes.

Almost same thing happened to me quite recently. In my experience, when a girl goes of to a new school, they tend to feel like its a new chapter in their life. so they want to go out and have fun with other lads and not worry about their boyfriend. Its like a new start and they want to expeirence it to the full.

I know you dont want to hear this and also seems unlikely now but there are people out there and you will meet someone new and be happy.

you can do the above but you want to show her you still like her without saying it. Send her flowers (say every friday) or call her and tell her that something importants about to happen and that she has to come. Go to the beach around 10 at night, and say o i thought there was a ____ contest, o well i guess we have to stay here, and turn it into a surprise for one of her events.

Sadly, most times when they say "I just want to be friends" there is already someone else in their life. Tough luck, but it sounds like it may be time to move on.

Just stay her friend for now, and find other women!

Trust me when she sees you with other women, she will realize what she is missing, and will come running back to you, TRUST me!
