If you're filing single with no big tax deductions this year (child, house, etc), then I would recommend it. It's the same thing as going to HR block (every single time I went to an office I got the person who didn't know what they were doing). Compared to spending $100 at the office, the cheapest service online is 9.95 and you can still get your money back in about a week if you use direct deposit. I also liked Turbo Tax b/c it will tell you you're refund as you go along. It walks you through your return step by step.

I've used it for many years...the best thing about it is that it saves your information from year to year. So say for example you've been with the same company as when you filed the previous year...all that information is imported from the previous year...all you have to do is change the numbers. Same for info like your mortgage company, mutual funds, child care expenses, banking info, etc... I can usually complete my taxes in less than an hour and I itemize my deductions, quick and painless because most of the work is already done...great program!

I use Turbotax taken from CD but the Internet version should be just as good. The reason I buy a CD is I like to keep the software for a few years in case I get audited.
Turbotax is definitely the way to go and very easy to use.

I have used it for the past couple of years and highly recommend it over the products in a box. This is one time use software and who needs it hanging around. I have had no problems and when used with e-file I recieved my refund check quicker than any other method I have used.
I cannot think of any cons....

We have used it for about 5 years. Our filings are fairly simple..I don't know if I would use it if I owned a business or had a very eventful year (deaths, gifts, wills, winnings etc..) Other than that...we use it ..file on line..and have our refund in a week!

That's how we have filled our taxes for the last few years. It does take a little while, have as few distractions as you can. It has worked well for us.
