You need to check Spain's importation laws on external market vehicles. I had planned importing cars into the United States, but stopped when I saw the insanely strict importation laws, mainly having to do with safety.

If there aren't any major importation restrictions, like crash-testing requirements (like here in the United States, six cars are required for the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration to crash test to see if the car is safe before you can begin selling.), then you need to check shipping rates from the United States to Spain (New York City and Boston are the closest major ports to Europe), and you need to check import taxes in Spain. You also may need to check export tarrifs on American vehicles. All of this information can generally be found on the American and Spanish government websites.

Also, try this one:
http://autopedia.com/Export/ImportExportRegs.html

It has a lot of import/export information for several countries, as well as general international import/export regulations.

One last item I'd like to point out - the Ford Mustang has been sold in Europe since its introduction. About the only difference between the American and European versions would be that the American version is left-hand drive. Same with the Pontiac GTO, which is sold in Europe as the Vauxhall Monaro VXR. Similar cars you may want to look at that aren't sold in Europe are the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. I can also provide you with a list of older cars that weren't sold there from the 1960s to the 1980s.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

I wish I could import the Ford Ranger or Mazda B2500 Diesels you get to have. A 4000 pound Mustang does not really have the power of the 1960s models. It would be a waste of money.

I would advise you to check into the cost of importing cars prior to anything else. I know that to import to other countries such as Peru, etc.. it drives the cost up so high that the vehicle isn't worth it.
