No matter what people say regarding this you can't turn on and off your feelings and sometimes those feeligs linger for a very long time until something else happens for better or worse. My suggestion is to talk about this with your closest friends or family - not to really solve your problem, but simply talk about. That seems to help my sisters and thier friends out. However, this suggestion tends to increase the telephone and cell bills so be careful not to replace your current problem over the other ;-) BTW: A little humor helps also.

What makes you think you don't have a chance? I met my husband one evening at a party at my house and he was soooo hot I was like wow ~ great friend but will NEVER be interested in me. Next thing I know, he's totally into me and we've been together since the night we met, and married for 1 1/2 years! If he's someone that isn't interested for some superficial reason, then really, you don't want him anyway. You want someone that is going to treat you right and want you for just being you.
If he's some jerk who doesn't want you for a dumb reason, then just get involved in other things to get your mind off of him. If when you're around him you are pining for him and imagining him coming over and sweeping you off your feet, then stay away. Just do other things with other people and have a good time without him!
Just remember this goes both ways ~ no man wants a woman that is easy to catch . . . men LOVE the chase! And no woman wants a man who is going to be TOO sensetive . . somewhat is nice but trust me I've met guys who were sadly pathetic when it came to crying over women . . and always ended up with a broken heart!
My husband tells me that its like Pepe Le Pew. He chases and chases the cat until she turns around and says "im yours!!" then suddenly . . . he runs away.

go out with friends, meet new people....
but i just have to ask, how do u know u have no chance with him? have u told him how u feel about him? alot of guys now days are completely blind to the way we feel and we have to be the ones to approach them...but if u have already tried this and know for sure u dont have a chance, then like i said go out, have fun, and the one that you are meant to be with will show up...

You get over a guy by moving on. Go to the mall, get your nails done, go out with your friends Before you know it a new guy will be in your life

well first of all, how do you know you don't have a chance with him? are you thinking he's to good for you? because he's not. no guy is to good for you. but if something else tells you that it won't work, then just tell yourself that he isn't worth it. boys aren't worth tears, and pain. they just aren't. have a fun night all to yourself, and realize how fun it is to be single, and right away you will stop missing him so much. soon after that start looking at other manly possibilities, soon you will find one that you like, and likes you back for who you are.

Same way you'd move on after falling for anyone else....you value your self respect and continue on the journey of life. Sometimes the fantasy is better than the reality. Find someone else to date that will occupy your thoughts instead. Good Luck

How do you know you have no chance with him (unless he's married)? What can it hurt to talk to the guy and find out where his head is at?

You already said you have chance with him.Why do you bother yourself on him since the chance is not there?
It is wise you look else where to get who is really you so that you will not end up killing your self on something you can not have.

Why don't you have a chance with him? Ummm... I have a friend that feels the same way and he just started talking to her although they will most likely never date they became friends. And he is happier being friends than having nothing.
