This is how Christians defend god in the story of Job. I’m just checking to see if this is a valid defense.

I would be very sad for the children I had lost and I would not try to replace them. If I had more children I would love them just the same no matter what. I don't understand how you think that the loss of life is used as a defense for anything. In Job the writer is trying to show Job's faith in God. He is trying to show that God will take care of his faithful servants. I don't think that the writer is trying to defend his beliefs with the loss of life. I just think that is his way of showing how much it takes to be a true follower of God.

God will and can do what he pleases. I am glad I serve a mighty God. You should think about what God does to the ungodly. Eternity in hell is far worse. Job just experienced a earthly loss but gained it all back.

$5 is better than $0. It's not the million bucks you had before but it's a start.

No. I mean, there would be joy with the new children, but I don't think you ever recover from the loss of a child.

Well if god killed the first set it must have been in Jobs best interest. Perhaps they would kill him an marry their mother. I don't know. I see no justification but then again I don't believe in gods and stuff.

i'm not a parent yet, but yeah, it would prolly make me feel a little better. but i would always remember the other ones. as in Job, it just seemed like he had a new life and he had forgotten all about them.

Who doesnt love fresh shiny new kids, with their new baby smell and their goo goo's and ga ga's. Although the whole diaper changing and such would be a drag.

You are a good example of someone who doesn't understand because you refuse to.
