Lots of good answers here. There is NO SUCH THING as "can't get over" an ex. One way or another, your ex is an "ex" for a reason, and probably a very good reason. What you are calling your inability to "get over" him is probably just your response to the habit of having him around in your life. And the quickest way to get rid of a bad habit is to find a new habit/hobby/whatever. Find a rebound guy. Hang out with friends. Meet new friends. Find a hobby. Do charity or volunteer work. Take a class (I took guitar lessons). Get a makeover. And make sure that you cut off all contact with your ex and NEVER let him know that you are thinking about him. Destroy all pictures and/or reminders. The point is to start over!

when your ex doesn't want to be in the relationship anymore, for whatever reason, accept it if u don't u won't be able to begin the healing process, keeping u in the pain longer than u really need to be. u may have a low self esteem and may need some therapy to get past it, as your self worth improves, how u see all this Will change. and don't fear meeting new people, we have to again make ourselves vulnerable we do have to reach out if we ever hope to have a chance at finding what we want. stop blaming yourself for the breakup, don't allow this to rob u of happiness and don't define yourself by this breakup if u do it will only leave u insecure, and with a fragile ego and self esteem. there is always some unexpected good that will come out of this, don't focus so much on your pain but on the possibilities and the future. why let this person do this to u, why let them destroy u, sometimes our own warped understanding or belief system keeps us from moving forward.

Dear britt,

I found I had to get into a hobby, fishing, for me. A little extra work perhaps. Rushing into a relationship may feel better, however, healing takes a process.

Something to expend energy and replace time with an activity. Never give up or be too risky OK?

Something good is right around the corner, I promise!

Someone new, and time. And finding yoruself and things you like to do.
And some good books. Hes jsut not that into you, and why men love B*thces.
Great books, i have read both and I am on my way.
I gave my self 3 days wrapped a rubber band on my wrist and any time i thought of him I snapped it.
Also, the will to improve yourself look better feel better to shove in his face, and the fact he cant have you cause you have a new wonderful man.
Stop dwelling on him life is too short

Find another to take the place of your ex and given you now have a little more experience, I'd hope that the new one is better than the old one.

I found out today my bf has been taking out another woman from work,he dumped me over the phone basically and now i feel like crap. The only thing i can suggest is think of the bad things about him and tell yourself you'll never cry over another man again.

Trust me eventually you will be able to get over him! I had the same problem, you know what I did? Go out with friends, hang out with family, travel, drink, have a full schedule, club...oh please go clubbing learn something new, dancing...ect.
Have fun life is too short to be hung up on one guy. Mind you, there are plenty of different guys to make you forget that one thats lingering in your mind!
Take care sweetie, good luck

You can and you will. Give it time!

In the meantime go out with your friends and do interesting things. Go to the cinema, go to the art museum, go shopping, go to the library, meet new people and eventually maybe a new boyfriend.
