it's so annoying removing them, and it's taking up my space. I have no idea why it's doing that. I'm very careful about my files and i know i don't have 2 copies until after i load it into itunes. i'm running the latest version i think, but i'm using it on XP not a mac. that shouldn't make a difference though. I have it configured NOT to copy files to my itunes library, but I do have it keep my itunes folder organized. and I manually manage files on my ipod, i don't sync, but i don't think that has anything to do with it.\

Any thoughts or suggestions? any idea is welcome. even if your idea is just to smash my computer because i may end up doing that soon. Not because of this problem, i just hate my laptop with a passion.

i think it might be because it's not in your library. My friends makes double copies as well and she doesn't have it organize her library.

i like it better when you have it automatically manage your library anyhow, it's way more convenient and it makes it easier to find everything.

That is what the System in XP Does... Not an Itunes issue, but an XP setting issue

Lmao, first answer is a typical Mac user I bet. Blaming it on Windows XP.

iTunes sucks.

Get a Zune already.

are you using the lastest itunes? do you have itunes installed on the same hard drive as your itunes folder? have you "consolidated" your library?
