add eggs and buttermilk and beat until smooth.
mix flour with baking soda, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
add half of the flour mixture to shortening, egg mixture and beat.
scrape bowl time to time to clean the sides off so ingredients are blended in batter.

add remainder of flour and beat until completely smooth, about 3-4 minutes.
batter will be thick.
place batter into a 13" x 9" x 2" oiled and floured baking pan.

scrape the sides of bowl time to time to get all ingredients into the frosting.
if the frosting seams a little dry, add a little more cocoa cola and beat well.
frost cake and serve with vanilla ice cream and enjoy.

I quite often use American recipes and I think you will find that powdered sugar is not icing sugar but caster sugar.
The Americans use the term powdered sugar for caster sugar because it is more refined than the box standard sugar one would use for hot drinks ect:
You should never make a cake with icing sugar because it would be inedible due to being too sweet. Also your cake would not turn out right either.
All the best Mr D

Powdered sugar (in Britain, Australia and most of the Commonwealth icing sugar) is a very finely ground form of sugar that is synonymous with confectioner's sugar. In industrial food production it is used where a quick dissolving sugar is required or as in domestic use principally to make icing or frosting, and other cake decorations. It is often lightly dusted onto a baked good to add light sweetness and subtle decoration.

I'm not sure of the literal translation, but you generally use caster sugar when baking a cake, and icing sugar for decorating it.

The best way of making chocolate cake is taking baking flour and put real chocolat ( melted) in its flour.
To top it up you can put some chocolat chips on.
If you want to use some sugar you can use cristal sugar or special baking sugar that you can find in old bakeries
