I had a friend who I thought was my secret pal because he said similar things with the secret pal did. I did not understand why he would give himself away if he wanted to be secret pal. I guess he was playing a mind game with me but I don't think it was funny.

Yeah maybe he likes you. Maybe he just doesn't know how to tell you so he created a secret pal. The question now becomes how do you feel about him?
And if he is in fact playing games then I would drop the secret pal thing and show no interest in it he can't get his kicks if you don't care. In fact you should do this regardless just in case he does like you...

well, maybe at first, he thought bein a secret pal is fun.. (maybe it is, anyway.. is dunno..)
but im guessin he got a taste of reality.. he got a crush on u.. and unfortunately for u, he couldn't stand fallin for someone who doesn't know his face.. he couldn't stand stayin behind the shadows n playin like he's only interested bein a secret friend..
well, as far as u and i know, close friendships between opposite sexes can only go so far until they hit a dead point: a desire to belong to the other... i mean, if there's intimacy n frequency, things'll usually end up goin deep...right?...
so i guess it ain't easy to find a true secret pal anyway, eh?...
