Try spraying a small bit of dw-40 lubricant in it. worked for me before on a car door. If that doesnt work try the key!! ;-)

Sorry can't help, but I do own a new (06) polo and the boot lock is awful. Inside says its open when it isn't, hard to lock, hard to unlock etc. Perhaps its a widespread problem.

Hope you get yours sorted.

go to VW dealer. They will have to cut you a key. But they need the serial numbers off the car for the right key.

mmmm can the back seats fold down you can get to the boot that way, was it damaged the lock was prob busted take it to the garage n get a new one
