Since some suggest the age of the Earth to be about 6000 to 10,000 years old, and that this information is derived from the Holy Bible, I'm very curious do you have a chapter and a verse with this date? I could look it up on BibleGateway, I believe it to be October 23 is that correct? Where is that in the Bible which chapter and verse?

If there isn't a chapter and verse that specifies which date and which year, is it possible it was October 24, or October 22 maybe?

Instead of 6000 to 10,000, without an exact verse, what if the actual age is 60,000, or 600,000, or what if the age of the universe is 13.2 billion years old?

Shouldn't God have left the exact date in some chapter and verse? If not, if we are just estimating, is my suggested estimate of 13.2 billion years old valid?

Silly fool. Everyone knows the year begins on January 1st, except for those silly Chinese, Hebrews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddists and Eastern Orthodox people.

Why can't the other HALF of the world just accept WE ARE RIGHT and adopt January 1 as the first day for everything and while they're at it learn to speak Merican, too!

I mean even those silly Frances people accept January 1!

In the Bible it clearly says the morning and the evening were the First Day. Hence January 1!

Dr. Carl Sagan seems to agree with it too, he says were still in the FIRST MONTH on His comsic calendar. First month. 1! One. Uno. The Universe began on 1-1-0 (or would it be 1-1-1).

It's totally rudamentary and then MAN came along and changed all the silly calendars and now NO ONE can agree when Easter is, only Christmas. So man made it impossible for us the agree on when he died, but we know when he was born. And we know the Universe was started on 1/1/0

And Carl Sagan, being the good scientis he is, has obviously extrapolated that the universe will END on 12-31, the end of the Year!

Out with the OLD in with the NEW. The ball will rise (or is it fall) and Bang, it starts all over again!

Sagan and science says it took a whole MONTH to get around to making man and the Bible stays it only took a week. That's because God's faster than science.

The Universe. Science says it took a month to make it. The Bible says a week. A forth of one and quadruple of another.

The reason they get about 6000 years isn’t because there is an exact chapter and verse, but they bible has a time line between profits and events. You can count it back and you get an about 6000 years. You would have to read the whole thing and be keeping track.

“Experts” have said things like Oct. 24, but they have all disagreed, so it is obviously not an exact science. It’s a matter of interpretation.

The exact date and time cannot be known in man's terms. Our calendar [and even ourSELVES] were not created yet. I'll go with the scientist camp in saying that the Earth is likely older than 6-10K years. But, it WAS created by God, big bang and all.

If man were able to discover it, I think science and creation would line up with each other. But there are too many unknowns and mysteries that man will never know the answer to. I don't think man will ever have the ability to fully comprehend the eternal.

What we need to know, and what is important to our salvation is contained in the Bible. The Bible contains all we need to know about the Kingdom of God, and about salvation. There are many unanswered questions that are not relevant to our salvation.

This is direct quote from Biblestudy.net

Author: The Book of Genesis does not specifically name its author. Traditionally, the author has always assumed to have been Moses. There is no conclusive reason to deny the Mosaic authorship of Genesis.

Date of Writing: The Book of Genesis does not state when it was written. The date of authorship is likely between 1440 and 1400 B.C. after Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt.

No the bible does no longer tell how previous the earth is. everybody who believes the earth is barely 6000 or 10,000 years previous isn't utilising their brains and refusing to ascertain good judgment and technological awareness. The earth is amazingly previous and our time isn't the comparable as God's time. there is not any reason the two, technological awareness and faith can no longer exist jointly. technological awareness solutions lots of questions yet in doing so opens up the way for much extra complicated questions approximately existence and how all of it began. P.S. if this is a image of you, you're eye-catching. =)

Jim Darwin, what is the date that earth began in the theory of evolution? The big bang theory, what date did that occur? In the Holy Bible it says that it is NOT for man to know the times the Father has for these things.

All the information you need to know is in Genesis.
Since the dates came about, they are collection of points in the rotation of the earth in it's orbit around the sun.
Only God could give you that information, since as a spirit, he and Jesus were the only observers.

There is none. Because a day to the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years are as a day to Him. So he may have taken a thousand or more years for each day of creation. There are no time limits for God. But He did not need thousands of years to create the miricle of the human body.

13.2 billion years is about 2 to 3 times greater than current scientific estimates.

If someone can show me how the age of the Earth impacts my daily life, then I'll start caring.

Why should God have left an exact date? Because you think He should have? If He did would that make you believe in Him? God gave us plenty of evidence that He exists but He doesn't force it on us. Those who choose not to believe could sit with Jesus and have dinner with Him and still choose to deny Him. Oh yeah, someone did, His name was Judas.
