My parents are 68 and 72, and they've both said retesting should start at 65. You'd think they would know, since they are both older than that. lol.

In my State our driver license are good for about 4 or 5 years. I got a letter the other day it time to renew. I know there are a lot of people, but, in reality I feel that everyone should be retested when it time to renew, not just the old schools. The reason I feel this; people can develop problems at any age that may hinder their driving skills. Once you learn people you will find that many will continue to drive even though their Doctor says they should not.
I not try to hurt any-ones feeling, though I probably will, look at MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) they do a good work, DO NOT misunderstand me, but, I always wonder how many of them drive a car after taking a prescribe medication that specifically says; "Do Not Drive while taking this medication"!
You see this just how people are. We will drive regardless, unless we are made not too. I myself have some pain pills (Not take often) but, it say do not drive. Believe I don't. Those dudes "Zonk" me out, one reason I not like taking them unless I have to.
But, as I already said; the problem with this would be the manpower to test the people every, say, 5 years. We already have enough taxes.

yes it would be a good idea for them to get re-tested because as you or me gets older we all start to loose our reaction time, our reflex's ,so we don't respond as quick as we should to things, this can be very dangerous when driving ,especially now with all the drivers on the road, you need to be able to react ,in a split second, were all going to be old some day,and i,ll still want to drive, but i,ll want to do it safely,if i cant pass a test at 70 or 90 years old,i don't need to be driving, and neither does any one else, but i think it would be an excellent idea to have older people tested, good luck i hope this help,s.

I believe they should--maybe even before 75.
Vision changes and reaction times slow with age. Because the changes occur slowly, we may not be aware of them. If it were mandatory, I'd like to think most people would comply. I would. I'm 68 and still goin' strong.
