I found a picture of the decorations I wanted for my outdoor wedding. Problem is, I have no idea where to find the tall poles. Help, please?

I got a 10 foot wooden dowel rod that is 2" in diameter at LOWE'S for around $15.00. It is solid and very strong.
Also, you might consider hollow water pipe...it comes in very long lengths and you could sit it in a small bucket of cement and decorate the bucket. Then attach your ribbons to the top.

That's all I could think of. Good Luck !!!

Those "poles" are actually called Shepherd Hooks. They have a hook at the top that allows you to hang the decorations. Here is a picture of one undecorated:

You can buy these at any garden center, Lowe's or Home Depot. You can probably even rent them from a party supplier. Ask you florist as well, they may have some.

I had something similar to this at my outdoor wedding except they were thicker.. It was a type of tubing that was painted for us and then they wrapped it with thick and thin ribbons and cascaded with flowers with pearl accents, I'm not sure how they staked it though.... I think that you could definately make these yourself for super cheap from the hardware store and local craft store. Or ask a local wedding planner.. and show them the picture they may charge for the advice though.. some give a free consult though too. Good luck..

If you're on a budget, go to a home and garden store like Home Depot and you can probably find all the materials you need to make something like that. You'd be surprised at the help you'd be able to get by showing the picture to someone who works at such a place.

Maybe you could try emailing the magazine or otherwise contacting the people there. They might be able to tell you where to find items shown in the publications.

It's easy, go to your local hardware store and ask where the closets rods are at they should come in natural wood and white. When you locate them then you should ask for Eye hooks and get enough for the top of each rod. If you find just a plain wood closet rod, then spray paint in white. NOW to assemble: choose one side for bottom and cut it at an angle with a hand saw or electric hand saw(watch your fingers) make sure it is good enough to stake into the ground, and the other side will be for the Top where you will screw the eye hook into. When you are completed with that all you have to do is feed a piece of ribbon through the eye of the hook and tie it to you flowers arrangement.

being in the business of wedding rentals--I have not come across anything like this, I would suggest you try to contact local wedding companies and show the photo they may have suggestions, otherwise, I would just go to your local hardware store by some skinny pvc piping that is about 10 feet in length (that is how tall they look in the photo)--paint them the color you want them, and attach the bows and flowers to the top by inserting that green styrofoam you find in stores for holding fake flowers together in an arrangement. (insert the foam into the top of the pvc pipe and insert flower stems into it you can super glue the bows onto the pipe and leave the tails of the bows flowing freely.)

Go to Lowes, Home Depot or some place like that and get pvc plumbing pipe. It should work well. It comes in different sizes. This is a very pretty decoration, my daughter is getting married next year and I think we my use this. Good luck.

These can easily be made. Your local hardware store should have everything you need. Bring them this picture. PVC is an option, but not really sturdy the taller you go. Copper tubing or metal conduit (probably much cheaper) could be used. You can paint with spray paint for metal surfaces. These are very cool by the way.
Congratulations!!!

I bet you could go to a gardening store. They sell large poles that have (what looks like to me) a shepard's hook on the top. They are meant to hang your hanging planters on in the garden. I bet you could use some of those hooks, and wrap them in a white cloth if they don't come in your color. Good luck
