You can get free virus software at www.avast.com - I use this at home and it is great.

Computer Associates Anti Virus is the best and free trial period is one year. Adaware PE is the best Anti-spyware and is free for personal use. Zone Alarm is a very good firewall and is also free for personal use. Another very good security product is Spybot Search and Destroy and still another is spywareblaster. These too are free. I have been using them for a loong time and never had a problem.

I use (ANTIVIR) it is free also it comes with daily up dates you can set it to scan when your not using the computer. I think everyone has there own favor. witch ever one you chose to use just remember to turn off sys restore befor removing any spy were or virus- then turn it back on after you are done

I use three together. A recent study showed that the best combination are:
ADAWARE SE Personal
SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY
MICROSOFT ANTISPYWARE
When used together these have the best record for getting things off your computer. Install each one, UPDATE the Dat files, and then run a full scan. Run a scan regularly.
