I think a lot of believers force themselves to believe in something because they are afraid not too. I am a christian and i believe in things other christians would try to tell me I am not allowed to believe in which is just silly because its my own thoughts and my life. I have just learned to keep the peace then to keep it to myself.

Of course the true belivers are very sure that God exists and everything in the Bible is true ...But perhaps you haven't met yet a true believer. If you like them make friends among them , you will be surprised .But first trie to find a true believer , because there are farisees even nowadays , I mean people who go to church but don't love God with all their heart ...Loving God means ..never betray a man , a woman , a friend , a stranger , nobody...So if you want to become friend with a believer , find a true one ...A believer has a very sensitive and intelligent soul ....

Let's not be silly.
Your definition of truth seems to be that of "whatever can be proven by science, logic, or is self-evident to the senses".
Correct?
Of course religion isn't true.
Religion is the exploration of those aspects of the world that CANNOT be proven in these ways. As better evidence is brought forward, "proof", religions either adopt it, or disappear.
But scientists and logicians know that no proof is absolute, and that there are always new things being discovered, and old things in those fields being disproven.
We could find out tomorrow that dinosaur bones were created by an alien species to fool us (not likely), but a true scientist knows that NO fact is written in stone.
That's why scientists haven't risen up to fight religion. Only atheists have (which is a belief system, one based on a principle that scientists and logicians realize is false: "God does NOT exist").
Since we cannot prove something doesn't exist except under very specific circumstances (unicorns may exist, just not here on earth in those places that humans exist for the period in which humans exist in them and to the extent that they are not perceivable by them), but must allow that such things may exist, but appear HIGHLY unlikely.
But there are always some who feel the need to destroy belief systems they disagree with because it threatens their own belief system. A surprising number of people have made science a belief system, much to the chagrin of scientists, who eschew any such nonsense.
Again, belief systems are organized attempts to explain and understand those things science, logic, and philosophy can't. Get rid of them, and you have either billions of seperate belief systems with no communication between them, thus leaving such ideas unexplored except by individuals with their limited resources, or you have a stagnation of thought in any area of thought that is not "sanctioned" by a government of pseudo-science officials.
Not in my America. I may not be religious. I may have no church. But I am a United States citizen and I will defend their right to worship as they choose, however silly it may be.
After all, I defend your belief system as well.
Keep speaking up, everyone.

These people prefer something that cannot be proven over something cold and scientific. A romantic streak coupled with a desire for mythical reality - living in a fantasy world. A psychological form of hiding really.
they need "crutches" to help them through a life that they cannot face.
In short, very similar to the people who believe that "Middle-Earth" really exists.

If there's anything someone chooses to believe in be it religion or anything else if that's what they want to believe in then it's not a waste to them. It's their belief and no one should hold judgement about that and this means you. But it's only your opinion.

"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession - to the praise of His glory" - Ephesians 2:13-14.
Stop being narrow minded and believe before its too late. Please man, this is the truth.

I wonder what it is that has made you ask this question? Why do you feel such a need to try and feebly undermine the beliefs and lifestyles of others. Could it be that it is you who is protesting too much?

Well when you've had many supernatural visions and happenings, He is pretty hard to deny. I know a lot of Christians have had none and they have great faith, they are better than me, i had to be shown. Just call me Saul.
