First, there has to be understanding that there are some who claim to be Christians, but are not. I'm not saying that to be mean, but being a Christian is not something you inherit from your parents. It is not going to church. It is not being baptized, infant or otherwise.

There are some who are members of religions that claim to be Christian, but are not (these religions add to or subtract from the work that Jesus did on the cross or do not grant Him His rightful place).

If you add these pseudo Christians into the equation, then no. If you are talking about people who have truly been adopted into God's family by the saving grace of Christ Jesus, I'd say most do try to practice His teachings, though we all are human and being such, we do fail. It is our goal, however, to become more and more Christlike throughout our walk with Him on this Earth.

No.I think most christians fall short of practiceing the teachings of Jesus. They seem to be too judgemental and less understanding and open-minded.They preach going to hell if you do not or do this or that and they are not qualified to make such a statement/It is not right to be holier than thou.Jesus taught total love and compassion, which seems to be lacking today by most .

The one's I know personally, yes... as well as they can anyway. The general public? No, they don't. For the most part they deal evil for evil, claim to love yet cause strife, demand that others follow certain rules that they themselves do not follow (example: they don't want homosexuals getting married, but their own divorce rate is so high it's not even funny).

As for the Humanist teachings, like I said, on a personal level many follow it... but the general public, as a whole do not. Seeing how people react over the war in Iraq is enough to show they do not follow it.
