The planets' not doomed mate, we are....

2007-01-26 04:16:04 · answer #1 · answered by alabama 2 · 0 0

As someone has said before me, it is the human race which is under threat not life itself, life always finds a way.

Sure, we can all do our bit to make a big reduction in pollution but global warming would have happened anyway with or without our meddling - it just would have taken a lot lot longer. The Earth goes through cycles of hot and cold periods. But there is no doubt that we have heavily sped up the process.

There are many other issues that will affect us in the future - look at the current growth in population - at the current rate we are going to have a major food shortage within 20 years or so. There simply isnt enough food for us all!

Maybe the Earth has just had enough of us. Can you blame it! Humans are the cancer of the Earth - we build everywhere, pollute everywhere, hunt other creatures to extinction, war with each other - and what do we give back in return? There are too many greedy people in this world who care too much about money and dont give a toss about the environment. Pollution will never stop - at least not for a really long time. Industry is too profitable. Sad but true. The planet would get along just fine without us.

Anyway thats my rant of the day lol :)

It is doomed with everybodys ranting on this website how it is not there fault, problem or can not do anything to change it.

Very small things done by everybody would make big changes, all we have to do is the little things.

Turn the heating down 1 degree
Recycle your rubbish
Change to energy saving light bulbs when the old one breaks
Don't use the car for short trips
use public transport if possible

These little things that everybody can do will make a big difference. Remember 20 years ago we had a big hole in the ozone layer, we have now closed this hole with the world working together. That was a disaster and future global killer but we have managed to change our ways and repair the damage, now we must look after the planet for our children.

The planet will continue, perhaps in a different way from how it is at the moment, but in the fullness of time new creatures will evolve that have adapted to any "catastrophies" we make - this has happened all throughout the Earth's history, and will continue to do so - environmental change and "disastors" are all part of the natural cycle of the planet.

However, more importantly, I think its a good idea to help keep the planet habitable for ourselves and our way off life - now thats the problem, we are changing so that we cannot sustain our current energy expenditure and lifestyles, population growth etc...

The planet is doomed anyway with or without our efforts. Most people are making an effort to recycle etc . Wonder what the next lot of people on earth are going to be like. I hope better than us lot.:)))

The planet is not doomed in the short term that we are worried about. It's the human species that is under threat. If we destroy the environment that is supporting us, we destroy our species, maybe many more species, but probably not life.

Earth would reform, regroup, and start afresh; nature is a very big reservoir and has no problem with starting over.

It's the ultimate irony: Only humans can save humanity and we don't seem to care.

each and everything is composed of an end. The sunlight will die ultimately and the Earth will be destroyed. although, maximum articles on the concern wildly over-exaggerate the most insignificant medical findings. The Earth will nonetheless be right here lengthy once you, your little ones and their little ones have died

Every generation has its doom predictions. That have all been wrong and the most recent ones will be wrong too.
