I bought my computer from a highschool auction last year. My system is not running correctly, and I want to reinstall it to try to correct the problem, but I did not receive the CD. Also I am logged in as the administrator and it is telling me that I have limited access to different things, like the Windows Update sight. How do I log in as the administrator when I already am. This is really the main thing that is bothering me. I am the administrator and it tells me to contact the adminstrator. I thought computers were smart.

Problems with xp ! I know it cannot be done for free or without a disc, if you go to a outside ilegal source or hacker. Microsoft has a way of killing it.
the real concern we should have is the position they have put everyone in, making programs that will not be serviced for a long time, How much money do they think people have to waste on all this BS. where are the lawyers out there?
We should all get together and take out a legal action against Microsoft, for using us for nothing more than testers with that stupid xp
windows 98 millennium or 2000 were far better and easier to understand, all xp offers is when you screw up all you must do is restore, but pac 1 pac 2 and all the other crap is just that, if i were you i would look for a homeboy repair shop like best buy or future shop electronics centre and ask if they will service your windows 98 computer because Microsoft has dropped any upgrades. it will cost you so much less and will be so easy to use, xp and anything from this point on is self serving, with what i have paid over the last 10 years i should own the company.

You must have the software unless when you installed it you copied the entire Cd's to your hard drive. If you did then you can reinstall from the hard drive.
