*** I am not saying the color is fading! Just the excess is comming out and I know this is normal so don't try to tell me its messed up or the artist did it wrong cause I know it isn't messed up.****

nice avatar!
it should be fine. it was just extra ink that the atrist used. dont worry about it. the color will fade a little bit, but it will be fine. after a couple days, start putting a&d ointment on it to keep it moist!

When I got my tattoo it did that for about 24 hours afterwards. However I took off the bandage only four hours after having it done bc that's what the artist told me to do, are you sure you should be leaving it on for so long? Also, just a couple tips that I think really helped my tattoo heal really well: make sure when you wash it for the first time you wash it until it feels as smooth as possible, like your un tattooed skin, but wash gently don't scrub it or anything. Also, wash it two times a day like you said but not for very long bc the soap can be drying, also make sure you are using antibacterial soap like dial, and make sure you use unscented lotion such as lubriderm. That's what I used and my tattoo was perfectly healed very quickly and looks great! Sorry if you knew all that! I just have a friend who's tattoo turned out bad bc she didn't take care of it so I always like to share my experience so yours can turn out good! But don't worry about the "leaking" it should stop soon. : )

I just got my 5th tattoo a week ago. The color you see on the bandage was just excess color. It's perfectly normal. After a couple of days, you will notice that the tattoo will start to peel. If it scabs, and in some (but not all) cases it will, that's normal too. It just shows that the artist went a little deeper in that area. Don't pull off the scabs or the peeling skin. Let them fall off on their own. That will cause fading and possibly scar tissue if the scab is big enough. Keep it moisturized with an unscented lotion without a lot of petroleum. Too much petroleum is bad for a new tattoo because it absorbs the color. If it scabs a lot, try using a creamy ointment, not one that is extremely oily (and therefore is likely to contain petroleum) . You will be fine! just try not to was it too much. Just lightly with your soapy hands. I would use a gentle soap. Try not to scratch the tattoo either, instead, gently rub over the area. Good luck!

You shouldn't wash your tattoo that often first of all - secondly if it's leaking ink of any kind that means the artist went in really, really deeply. Take the bandage off now, and put some lotion on it - unscented is best. DO NOT put the bandage back on, you should've only had it bandaged for the first four hours or so. Keep the tattoo moisturized with the lotion (don't glob it on, just put on a dab of lotion, the thicker the lotion the more likely you are to scab and the tattoo is more likely to fade over time). If the tattoo should look red and angry at any point you can wash it very very lightly with unscented soap and just brush your soapy fingers over the tattoo, rinse in comfortable temprature water and pat try with a towel, give it about 20 minutes of air and put the lotion on again.

i don't think the ink is actually 'leaking' out of your tattoo.
when tattoos are done, there will always be extra ink on the surface of your skin.
whenever i got a tattoo, there was always extra ink on the bandage when i took it off.
normally after washing it a couple of times all the excess ink will be gone.
but the color you see is not really 'leaked ink' but 'excess ink'
but if you are really concerned then you could call your artist or the shop that you got it done to ask them any questions that you have.
good luck and happy healing!!

That is just excess ink. That is one of the reasons that I do not use petroleum based ointments on my tattoos anymore. My first artist swore by them, but it always made the tat seem to leak ink, and look dirty. Now I stick to fragrance free lotion during the healing process. They don't ooze are leak anything, and seem to heal much faster.

It shouldn't be leaking, I've never had that problem. A little blood or such is to be expected but the color should not be coming out, at all.

I never had that problem with any of my 5 tats as tats don't leak color. It was either they didn't clean up your tattoo too well when you first got it, or the tattoo isn't staying with you and your body is fighting it off (almost like an infection.........this does happen a lot with some people).
