I recently dyed my naturally brown hair to auburn with dark red highlights. However, after a day in the sun, the highlights at the top of my head have become noticeably lighter. Is there a way to reverse this and make my hair darker (more browny, less red)? And if not, how long will I have to wait until I can re-dye my hair to a natural colour such as black or brown?

Red is one of the hardest colours to maintain. Trust me on that, I'm naturally a red head but I pump it up and have been doing so for almost 25 years.
You can re colour almost right away....I'd wait about a week after the first colouring to let natural oils and what not build back up. I've had highlights totally removed by going darker. My hairdresser helped me the first time but I find I can do this myself now

If the highlights were profeesionally done you can't "reverse" them...When you have your hair highlighted you are removing color pigment that cant be gotten back until the hair grows out or you dye it again. I would wait 2 weeks from the date you had it highlighted (if it was professionally done) and then re dye it...I suggest do it yourself dye. The salon uses very harsh chemicals. If you did it your self with a home kit you can redye it immediatly. Hope this helps!

okay. well. i dye my hair a little to much D: lol. um. well i'd say you should dye it a dark brown, just to get rid of the highlights. you could bleach it to get all the colour out but that damages your hair a lot. so i'd just say dye it dark brown, wait a couple of months, then dye it your regular colour. or you could just dye it dark brown or black [either work] and just let the red grow back in. id say just wait a couple months before you dye it your regular colour, so you can let your hair breathe for a bit. tell me if it works!

tFirst you need to make sure your hair is conditioned good before you put more chemicals on your hair. Then you determine the color you are and the color you want to be and go at least 2 to 3 shades darker and make sure you know your tone that you want. Then with a low volume peroxide to deposit not lift. A website www.behindthechair.com may help you understand a little more and guide you to other sites than lay persons can gain knowledge. Good Luck! professional conditioner is essential.

i think of it would look large! this is definitely a ambitious shade determination, and that i think of it would pair large with eco-friendly eyes. it is extremely useful to contemplate getting a cut back that still makes a assertion. it would make the colour look slightly extra setting up. do exactly no longer forget that purple fades speedier than the different shade, so make particular to positioned on spf spray or a hat contained in the solar, and cover it with a bandanna in case you utilize a tanning mattress. =]

when its sunny mix viniger with water and put it on your hair and go in the sunshine. itll make it redder. for blonder hair you do the same except lemon juice instead of viniger.
