I have an unused partition on my harddrive which is about half the storage! What is the best software to do this!

Another way is to use Disk Director for that. It costs cheaper than Partition magic but in my opinion Disk Director isn't worse. In some things Disk Director has advantages against Partition Magic and in addition it has many useful features. Partition Magic is sort of the 'industry standard' for this kind of thing, but there's also a free alternative called Partition Logic you might want to try.

you can merge partitions with Paragon Partition Manager. A free version of this software is available here
