Be a man. Do it. If you get rejected, so what? It won't be the last time. Life is full of rejections, hardships, breakups, and such. Get used to it now. Just ask her. What is the worst that will happen? She'll say no. And you move on to the next one. Grow some testicles, ask her out.

All I can tell you is - the worste thing that can happen is she will say "no". She isn't going to put up posters saying you asked her out, she isn't going to spread awful rumors about you. If you are nervous to ask her in person, maybe you could write her a letter or something that will make it personal, but save you the risk of being rejected face-to-face.

Since your friend knows her have him introduce her to you, when she is not hanging around her friends. Just sort of bump into her afterwards, and then later give her your number so that she can have the choice of callling you or not. That way nothing is out in the open and no one will know whether she rejected you or not.

2 things to say to you about this:
1. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
2. Shakespeare said it best when refering to women:
From Womens' eyes this doctine I derive
They sparkle still the right promethian fire
They are the books, the arts, the acedemes
That show, contain, and norish all the world.
Try quoting that.(you might try reading the play it came from as a back up as well. It's from Love's Labours Lost)

Talk to ur frend and find ou what kinds of things she likes. Write her a note and put it in her locker. Or you could introduce yourself as a frend, who knows, she may like you back! She could have a secret crush on you! Once you guys are frends, get to know her more, then go for it!

You have plenty of time and plenty of fish to go for. Dont regret your decisions by not asking her our and wondering all your life what could happen.
Rejections are inevitable and not that embarrasing how you think. Go for it, if it fails, it's not your loss, it's hers.
Dont forget being rejected is better than not knowing what she thinks.

The worst thing to happen is not to be rejected, it's to wonder what could have happened if you had actually had the nerve to ask her out. Just ask her ;)

well rejection is a risk but if you don't risk in your life you ain't get anything...
Talk to your friend and ask him to introduce you...
Then with the first chance talk to her, ask her if she would like to go out some time, take her number....
GOOD LUCK!
