If you look throughout the old testament, god interacts with people quite a lot. In fact, he even walks amongst them (genesis before the fall of man). It was also during the old testament that he was the most angered at us. And I wonder: Why is it that god is never amongst us anymore or talking to us, especially after he supposedly fogave us for our sins? Doesn't sound too logical to me. And please, don't try to say "god is amongst us invisibly with the holy spirit" or "he speaks to us in our prayer" because clearly that is not in the very least similar to how much god interacted in the old testament.

Mission accomplished makes sense when you still have revelations supposed to happen. (rolls eyes)

Actually, our relationship with God in New Testament times is closer and deeper than what the Old Testament saints ever experienced. You are not understanding the spiritual realm.

In the Old Testament, God could not indwell His people because their hearts had not been changed. His revelation to them had to be in the physical realm. The heart was not changed until the death and resurrection of Christ. It was with this act of love that the door was open for mankind to experience God in a deeper way. The heart is now the dwelling place of God and His Spirit is the Comforter who is with us just like Christ was with His disciples.

I know you may not like this answer but it only shows that you do not understand the true meaning of Christianity.

FOR LANCE:
What historical inaccuracies are you talking about? IF you don't like someone answering a question with a Scripture then how else are we supposed to answer a question about Scripture?

The theme of the Bible is the kingdom and the promise king of that kingdom was Jesus ( the promise seed from Genesis to Revelation). God's intervention with mankind was primarily to protect the line or lineage of that promise seed, Jesus. Once the promised Jesus appeared on the earth, God's purpose to have a redeemer and king was fulfilled. Now we just wate for that King to start ruling the earth.Daniel 2:44.....And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;

I have often wondered why He did all the smiting and destroying in the old testament but made an about face in the new. Further proof that the bible was written by men and is in no way an accurate portrayal of God.

He speaks to us through His Word. He speaks to us through His pastors. Most importantly......He speaks to us through the Holy Spirit. He has not left us......and He will be back just as promised.

You obviously don't have a relationship with God, which leads to your lack of understanding.
