Why bother asking a question about ettiquette?

They dont really care if they look tacky or not, they find the one person who tells them what they want to hear and run with that, even though 25 other posts say its in really poor tatse. Why did they even bother asking if they truly arent interested in the answer?

Am I the only one this annoys?

i agree with you! lol. ettiquette isnt something you can alter to fit,,it just is the way it should be. that is why it is called ettiquette and not 'my chosen way'.'

AMEN!!! Wow..that totally burns my toast too. When people here actually give sincere answers, I think that it's a good gage on what the majority of people would say. The one question which totally drives me insane is when someone wants to know how to "word it nicely" on the invitation that they want cash. SO 20 people answer it's totally wrong and poor manners to do so, and they choose the person who says "It's fine, I did it for my wedding and no one minded" as best answer. Why did they even bother to ASK??

You are sooo right!! I am so tired of people asking How to ask for Cash or gift card for a wedding because they don't want to register!! I mean were they raised in a barn and never attention a Normal wedding?? And 50 people answer NO and they pick the other slob who's like yeah, I did it.

I think everyone above is right- they just need that one person to agree with them to feel better about their tackiness!!

No, but the questions that really annoy me are the ones about wierd baby names. I think the askers know deep in their heart that the wierd names are not a good idea. They just want some stranger to say "ooh, that is SO CUTE" so they can feel good about sticking their kid with a wierd name for life. I mean, you never see a question like "I want to name my daughter Ashley, what do you think?" or some common name. It's always a question about a wierd name or wierd spelling of a common name

it can be a crutch that people use.
25 people tell them what they don't want to hear but, if there is one person who tells them what they want then this will be the reason not to change. Most people are afraid of change.

Some people really do not know what the proper etiquette is, so they ask to find out. It does not annoy me if people to choose to ignore it, because it is not me who looks rude, it is them.

It annoys me too. Half the time I don't bother answering some of these questions anymore. What irriates me the most is seeing "It's YOUR wedding, do whatever you want."

Some people just want to get another point of view. It may not change the focus or how they do things, ust may give them perspective.

They just want verification for their own actions. Most people want others to back them up and agree with them wether they are right or wrong.

Personally, I couldn't care less. I don't even care if people are rude even rude to me. It is their problem not mine.

Judging from your answers. No, it's not just you.
