It is obvious you are carrying a lot of burden on your shoulder...5 kids?? Wow, I think you are incredible!! So many mouth to feed, so much work to do...you take care of OTHERS but you do not take care of YOURSELF.
Too bad you didn't tell how old the kids are, if they are more than 10 years old then ask them to help you are the house more, like someone should do the vacuming, someone the dishes...
Also, ask your man to help you more, admit to him that you can not do it all by yourself, if he's a trustworthy man he will be glad to help...
If you can not afford to go on a shor holiday then try to get the kids out of the house for one day (and your man also- get him to take them into the ZOO or something) and make a bath for yourself with lots and lots of bubbles, if you like candels lighten them up also, put on your fav cd, try to relax...do not think about the stuff you have to do. Clear your mind from all the waste...
Oh yeah, try to get more sleep to. I bet you are not sleeping enough, your body lacks sleep!!

I don't want to sound like an ***, but with five kids and a job, your options are somewhat limited.
A vacation would be perfect, BUT, I know that's pretty far fetched given your situation.
My advice is to do breathing exercises whenever you get a spare second. They help take the edge off so you don't snap at the people you love, and try to find something to focus on that is exclusively "yours" like a hobby or craft that you can do in small increments without affecting your schedule. Sculptural welding might not be the best hobby for a busy mom, but crochet, or sudoku, or even origami are hobbies you can pick up and put down easily enough to accomodate a raving pack of five year olds.
Whatever you choose to do, remember this...It's your life too...love your kids, but don't be defined by them. And most importantly, you have to understand that when you're not happy, the kids know it. They react to your emotions and attitude.
Patience and Love always prevail...always

Sounds like stress, depression and who wouldn't be with all of that on your plate. Does your man help with any of this?
5 children are enough to make anyone cave.
But take heart. With a little reworking and some time off I think your could be better than new.
Try this site for starters, just to learn a little and kind of self-evaluate.

Looks like your overwhelmed single mom, So tell me about the
three step children, are you raising them ? what type of commitment do you have from their Dad to assist with (5) kids or
is it he makes #6 . I suggest that you make time for yourself
have a family meeting about what can be done to help out and
Dad must step up a notch.

1st of all I'm so sad about your problem but I'd like to say that I've felt that way before and the thing I did was... get down on my knees and pray, God will help you through everything, tell Him all your problem and let Him know it and tell Him that you're confused and you need His help to make you feel better.
2nd of all, take a vacation. you need one, with your family! thats should be fun!
last but not least, I'm sure that you're problem is solved by doing these 2 steps but then, pray again and thank Him for His help.
Good luck!

If you're in your 40's or so, you could be getting menopause. But you sound young, so I would say maybe you need some excitment in your life. Perhaps everything is to fine and normal and you want something new. Maybe start a hobby, or even a vacation.

It's pretty plain to see you need a break. It's hard to raise children on your own....and be full time worker...and a girlfriend...and put on a happy face all the time while you're at it.
My advice is a little get away...no kids, no man...just you, a few good books, and sunset.

Have a day out for yourself. If not, go out for a long walk in the snow path. breathe in the winter-crisp air and adore the purity of the snow. take a few moment and think what is the root cause of your unhappiness? you should be able to tell by then.
