It depends on the personal prefrence of the parents, usually I believe though, the keep there mothers name. If there is no-known boyfriend at the time of birth that is.

This is completely the mother's choice. Some women are under the mistaken impression that they must give their child the father's surname, but that's not true. And if you're seeking child support, you can still get it regardless of which last name you give the baby (however, if the father is not on the birth certificate, both he and the child will have to have a paternity test completed before child support will be enforced).

The mother can give the child any last name she chose at its birth (does not have to be either parents either). Unless she is legally married at the time. Then it must be her maiden name or her married name. A child can have the fathers last name without the father being on the birth certificate. It just up to the mother to chose which name to give it.

The father does not have the right to change the name. BOTH parents have to be in agreement on the last night before it can be changed.

Since the parents are not married, a child usually gets named with whatever name the mother chooses. She can give the baby her surname, the fathers surname, or both surnames joined with a hyphen. It's up to her. :-)

The choice is up to the mother at the time of birth. The child could have the mother's name, or the father's. It's entirely up to the mother. There are no laws dictating either.

If the father is willing to take a part in the childs life, then you can give the child his name. If he is a low life and doesn't want to take part in a wonderful thing, the child gets the mothers name. It realy goes off what you think is best. Good Luck with that!!

most of the time its the moms surname but can also be the fathers surname, they just have to make an acknowledgement sign by the father and a lawyer if they choose to use the fathers surname. it also depends on the state where they live because some state do not allow to use the fathers surname unless they got married.

that's an empty risk because of the fact if there became no infant born of the union then she would be in a position of't take you to courtroom to help a infant that would not exist. Get your marriage certificates, get the 'signature' checked to instruct it became forged, and get a DNA attempt to instruct you are the father of the newborn. She is to blame of fraud, for the forgery if no longer something. She is likewise exploiting you for money she knows you need to be spent in a different way from how she plans. it is likewise possible to be entitled to custody of this infant if she would be in a position of be proved no longer worth, yet infant steps. certificates, handwriting professionals, DNA try. stable luck, dad.

That is your decision. It is up to you whether you want the baby to have your last name or your partners. If you plan on staying with your partner and eventually get married to them, then it would be better to give the baby the partners last name because if you gave it the mothers last name and then married the partner, you would have to go to court and everything to get the baby's name changed. Good luck!
