Talk to her and if your bothers and sisters (if any) agree that she is going about this in which a way you do not approve of. SAY SOMETHING. The same thing is happening to my father except its not his wife its is daughter in law who clearly doesnt know what shes doing. No one is saying anything though and I know that would definitely change things. Tell her that you all want to look over his assets and don't want to be left in the dark about anything.

It's up to you, whether you want to fight for a fair share or let your step mother have it all. I'm in the same situation. Personally, I won't fight her even though she's greedy and not doing what my father's will dictated. I have no contact with her because when my daddy died, I felt freed from trying to be peaceful with her all those years out of love and respect for my father. If she can live with herself knowing she disrespected daddy's wishes and robbed me, I can live without the money .

Well if she has taken control of the house and things in it then that is her right thats her house too.I think you should talk to her and tell her you want some family photos keepsakes and some things to remember your father by but thats all you should be asking for.

I don't know how long they were married, but that really is her right. Did he have a will?
In my will it states that the survivor gets what is left, the children get a payoff when the survivor dies or remarries.
Try being human and talking to her, but I don't expect that anything will change.

Did he have a will? If not, there is a very good chance that she is entitled to everything. You need to talk to an attorney ASAP.

If your step mom to going to listen to you and your brother and sister then I think you need to get a lawyer... it better to find out more than have nothing.
