I will give you the answer. You are absolutely correct when you say tropical climates. I have had severe eczema & psoriasis all my life. My 17 year old son had it so bad that his hair fell out. He had it on his back, legs and arms. We tried every thing that the doctors could prescribe to no avail. Think about your question a little. You say the only time it improves is when you are in a tropical climate. This is what I did for my son, and believe me when I tell you, within one week there was an 80% improvement and within 2 weeks he was 99.9% clear of any skin condition. I took him to a tanning studio. On the first visit he tanned for just 1 minute. We increased this to 5 minute sessions over a 2 week period. 10 sessions later and presto no visible signs of skin conditions. Discuss this with the tanning studio for the best amount of time to spend under the lights. They will give you a better idea of what's best. Now let me tell you that when I told my dermitoligist what I had decided to do for my son's condition, he did not agree. However, he was astonished when he examined my son and saw such an unbelievable improvement. If it doesn't work for you, at the very least you'll walk away saying you tried, and you'll have a nice tan. I have recommended this to others who have had remarkable results as well.

I had a 13 year history of psoriasis, though I was in good health otherwise. But these severe large, thick and scaly excoriated plaques on my neck, ears, trunk and limbs ruined the way I was leading my life. I would be with red, inflamed itchy skin for most part of the year and these silvery scales would seem to be erupting without any reason. To make matters worse, blisters would appear over already red and itching skin. It was living hell. I was treated with various options but nothing seemed to be working. Some of the treatments that I underwent in this depressing period of 13 years included tar preparation, tropical steroids and anthralin. I was also given light therapy many times but everything I tried would give me temporary relief. And soon, after a few days I would be plagued with the situation again. In one of those moments when I was completely lost I stumbled upon this website just by chance. I read it and felt that as if someone had put the story my life on this web page. I was thoroughly convinced that if ANYONE can cure me of condition, it would be you. And was I right, or what. I started recovering within 3 days of starting this treatment. Something that had become a painful part of me for 13 years was actually getting healed! My ears are healed and my neck is smooth again!. I am a month into the treatment and I have never felt better in my life! Psoriasis Revolution?

I don't know if you have tried Hydrocortisone cream 1%. It is inexpensive and you can buy it from the dollar store or Walmart. Or you could try getting an Aloe Vera plant and using the gel from the leaves straight on to the sore areas. Or take a small cotton bag and fill it with oatmeal (not instant) and hang it under the tap in the bath while you run the water for a bath and let the water run through it. Lie in the water for about a half hour..it will take the itch and sting out of it. Or..and I have no idea if you can get this in the USA..I am from Australia and been living in Florida 6 yrs....Ayreton's antiseptic Cream is wonderful. Tea Tree oil is great too. A final suggestion would be to go and see a Chinese Herbalist...I have heard they are very good with skin complaints.

Cure psoriasis starting today - even if your doctor or dermatologist says "it's impossible!"
I've just followed a guide called psoriasis free for life that completely cured me of this debilitating and embarrassing disease in less than a month!
Remember, this will not only treat the symptoms that you do see:
the red, inflamed itchy skin.
The silvery scales that seem to erupt for no reason.
The burning or bleeding that occurs around your joints.
The cracking, oozing and painful patches on your skin.
But it also treats the underlying cause of psoriasis - the part you don't see - the actual immune system deficiency that causes these itchy patches to appear and scale over.
For more information, check here : http://Psoriasis.naturallysaver.com .
You can definitely get back your life, your confidence and your self esteem!

RE: Are there any good over the counter remedies to help soothe psoriasis?
Nothing seems to help improve the psoriasis except tropical climates, do any of you know of a topical ointment that may help at least soothe it a bit?

No! there is nothing good "over the counter" for Psorasis.. you need an RX and or treatments from a DERMATOLOGIST (not a general MD) Any thing over the counter is basically "snake oil" aint gonna do a thing.. I've been doing this over 30 years now.. over the conter? BULLS*IT anint gonna work... ask yer MD for a RX for cobetasol Propionate maybe (.05 %) thats a basic minimum maintence topical if you dont have it all that bad...
There is NO CURE only treatment at present...
I almost hate to say it(cuz well they dont know any better but.. I will cuz I know.. all the prior advice is total Bullshit... see a dermatologist... get the RX.. its not that expensive in the grand scheme of things, and it will work to a degree (depends on how bad you have it.. if really bad Kenalog injections might help.. but they will only do that so long.. I cant get em anymore)

I agree! The winter really kills your skin!
The BEST product I have ever tried is "Gold Bond Medicated" cream. It's not the cheapest product but it is definitely the best!
