the handbrake on my modeo keeps sticking on any idea or do i need new calipers?

Hi

Clean and grease the levers. You will have to clean them thoroughly though. Do the same with the caliper slides and apply some silicone grease to them before replacing them.

You may also want to remove the pads and clean all the pad-to-caliper mating surfaces where the metal of the pads touch the metal of the calipers, and maybe give them a bit of a file down to smooth the lumps, bumps, and rough edges on the pad runners of the caliper.

Once you've done this, apply a tiny bit of copper grease to the pad-to-caliper mating surfaces.

If this fails to sort the probelm properly then renew the cables.

or you could do it the other way round of course!!!

A good brake service never did anyone any harm!!#

its normally the cables that partially sieze up , but on occasions it can be a caliper also, replace both cables as if one siezed, youcan bet the other will soon after!!

its ether the rear caliper or the hand break cable

your calipers probably need greasing
