Anyone who believes everything the bible tells you, isnt thinking very realistic. The bible wasnt written in english...it was translated over many many years...translations are never 100% . so not everything is true...But the main thing i believe is that if you have faith in God, you are all right....Why would He create humans that cant speak a certain language and have His book be in that language? Well I dont know...just spread light and express your opinons on afterlife and God...and what in the bible do you think got translated wrong

Some of the Bible was written in Aramaic because that was the language most people of that time, who were likely to use it, understood. Other parts were written in Greek mainly because that was the lingua franca of the whole of the Mediterranean region where those parts, of the Bible were going to be used. God did not choose the language in which the bible was written, nor even allow it, it was written according to the circumstances of the time.

Most Christians, unless they are fundamentalists, believe that everything in the bible about God and his teaching is the TRUTH. The Bible is a book inspired by God, but written by man, He did not write nor dictate it himself.

Christians are quite aware that there are places in the Bible where you can find contradictions by comparison with other parts. Even Paul became confused when rendering his several accounts of what happened to him on the road to Damascus. (See Acts of the Apostles.) The matter of historical dates can be faulted, figures vary (eg how many horses and stables Solomon had), scientific information can be shown as wrong compared to what we know today, and so on. These are all mere details, which do not affect the truth of God,s teaching, nor a committed Christian's faith in it.

Even the errors of translation should not effect God's teaching. They are usually about very small points of detail and/or they can be clarified by reference to other verses.

It actually gives Christians confidence that the ancient copyists of the various books of the Bible did their work faithfully and truly copied what had been passed down to them, and that the Bible of today is, as far as possible, a true record of the original manuscripts. For if the copyists had not been faithful to their work they could, over the years, have so easily ironed out all these differences, which they surely were aware of.

Best wishes.

The only way to know the Truth is to recieve Christ as your Lord and savior. When this happens you recieve the Holy spirit (The Spirit of Truth) and that is when you start to know the truth. This spirit is what teaches us and gives us the ability to understand.

Without the Spirit in us we can not know the truth, you can take a man that knows how to read the original text but does not know Jesus and he will never understand the truth in the Word.

I would assume you can read simple numbers but you may have a hard time understand string theory or others physics principles because you don't know the concepts or language of the math.

Jesus was on earth with his deciples for a few years and they heard what he said, they learned the old testament text that told of his coming and what had to happen. Jesus told them he would die and that he would rise from the dead and they did not understand.

You have to have the Spirit to know the truth. I believe the Bible was written by men filled with the Spirit of God and that the Words are from Christ. We learn that in the beggining was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Jesus is the Word, Jesus is God and Jesus is the point.

I believe the scripture is the truth, could their be improper translations, sure but if the truth is in it the Spirit will teach you what is the Truth and what is not. many dwell on what they think is wrong in the Word instead of learning what they need to live life more abundantly from the Word.

I have studied the Word for many years and have used many translation of the Bible, I have never once found anything contradictory in the Word. I have had questions, but once I looked into it, I found that it was written for a certian reason to one group of people where another scripture was written for another reason to a different group.

I find nothing but Truth in the Bible and I love the truth I find there.

God Bless.

Those texts that are understood mean that the Almighty is "Trinity" are wrong, and those that say the Almighty tortures people forever. Also the ones that use pagan names for the Almighty. See Ex 23:13. The Almighty is YHVH and the Messiah is YHVH is my Savior, so His name is YAHOSHUA! There was no "J" until 1400 A.D. So there is no "J" in His name! Other than that, the translators generally did a pretty good job, and if you don't like the way one team did it, get a different translation.

The Bible is not to be considered factual. There are many problems for instance in translation from Greek to Aramaic to Hebrew to Latin to English.
In the Vatican, for instance, there is a statue of Moses (by Michelangelo) coming down from the mountain with tablets in hand and with a strange cattle type horn protruding from his head.
This is a result of misinterpretation of the ancient word "keran" which means "horn". But keran also means "rays of the sun",
hence it should have been interpreted as "Moses came down from the mountain with a radiant face".
An excellent book to read on the subject is "Misquoting Jesus" by biblical scholar Bart D. Ehrman. An unbiased and interesting research on the subject of Biblical accuracy
