As far as what religion defines as ghost--so called souls of dead loved ones, alive--they do not exist!
--As far as demons, like satan with every kind of perversion , yes they do ! The best thing to do if in fact you believe in God and honor his name as Jesus did--these are major steps to follow:
NWT.
--Proverbs 18:10
"The name of Jehovah is a strong tower . Into it the righteous runs and is given protection"
--Proverbs 18:10 (Young's Literal Translation)
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
10"A tower of strength [is] the name of Jehovah, Into it the righteous runneth, and is set on high. "
Jesus used the scriptures as one of the great strengths that the Demons & Satan can't stand--when indeed people use this avenue properly(meaning understanding & applying):
Matthew 4:
1Then Jesus was led up to the wilderness by the Spirit, to be tempted by the Devil, 2.and having fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he did hunger. 3.And the Tempter having come to him said, `If Son thou art of God -- speak that these stones may become loaves.' 4.But he answering said, `It hath been written, Not upon bread alone doth man live, but upon every word coming forth from the mouth of God.'.....
8 Again, the Devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 And he said to Him, "I will give You all these things if You will fall down and worship me." [b]10 Then Jesus told him, "Go away, [c] Satan! For it is written:Worship the Lord your God, and serve only (M) Him. " (N)
11 Then the Devil left Him, and immediately angels came and began to serve Him. (O)
--If you note Jesus said we can only worship & serve 1 God--thus true christianity is a must to be practiced. The Bible says very clearly that Jehovah is God and Jesus is the son of God--if in fact we reject this truth and accept the non-Biblical doctrine of the trinity--we indeed can get no help from God nor his Son--as we reject the two different individuals.
In the Lord's prayer Jesus emphasised the vital importance of what we should be concerned with in our prayers: Our Father(Jehovah-my-entry) hallowed be thy name(Jehovah-my entry) thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven............13 and do not bing us into temptation but deliver us from the wicked one"
If you note being delivered from the wicked one is involved with the showing of honor to "Our Father"-- hallowing, honoring, respecting etc. the name of God,& belief in the kingdom of God as Jesus taught- it as a heavenly government to bring peace on the earth.
A REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE (short form): My wife and I in our ministry, met a young woman who was having some serious demon problems, harassing her. We advised her to read the Bible when under attack and call on God's name Jehovah whenever she felt uneasy.
-- When we revisited her, she had told us of a harrowing experience, in which the demon tried to sexually assault her. She then said how the demon had gaged her somehow and she could not call for help, but she remembered the scripture we suggested she keep in mind Prov. 18:10--she called out to Jehovah just in her mind and almost immediatly the demon let go and fled.--This is not a made up story. The demons & satan hate the name of Jehovah and the authority it carries.
James 4:7, "Subject yourselves , therefore to God , but oppose the Devil and he will flee from you. 8. Draw close to God and he wil draw close to you..."
--PLEASE be extremly careful of some so-called modern day exorcism. Only Jesus had and has the power to do so. The process of riding the demons is a matter of constancy in true worship, (as the text in James)not some magic mombo jumbo.
-CAUTION--An account in the Bible when some tried to do an expelling of demons is found in Acts 19:13-17-- The demons ended up beating up the so-called exorcisors.
I am not suggesting you go on the offense and challenge satan and the demons, that would be battling him on his grounds, he is indeed powerful. But when under attack , harassed, tempted etc. the best defense is a good offense. Use the powers that Jesus used, learn more about the True God and his Son, put your knowledge into practice.
John 17:1,3
1 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
"Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.....
3. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."
--If indeed you need help in understanding more about true worship, ask any of Jehovah's witnesses--they will give you answers, you seek from the Bible, if you so wish? The website below has an entree for a request for free-home Bible study for those who wish.
--May God and Christ Jesus be with you.

There is no such thing as ghosts. BUT there is evil spirits and demon's. Read about how Jesus has send the demon's out of the man from Gadara. Matthew 8.
Another in Matthew 9. Matthew 12. Mark 1. Luke 4. Mark 5. Now also go to Isaiah 8. Isaiah 47. The only way to get rid of them is through praying. Get help from your pastor or prayer warriors of you church. You should have been able to answer this one yourself so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't really matter if other people believe in ghosts or not. It only matters what YOU believe.
It sounds to me like you do believe there is a ghost bothering you, else you probably wouldn't be asking this question.
I recommend praying to God to do this for you. Take your time with your prayers and try to feel God's love for you instead of any fear of the situation. You don't need a set prayer, just say what is in your heart. God will hear you.
If you feel brave enough, you can speak directly to the ghost and invite it to leave your space and to go and be with God.
Your local minister would also be happy to come in and do a house blessing for you as well. Its part of their duties, so if you give them a call they would be happy to help.
I hope that helps you out.
Peace.

I have seen spirits and demons. You need to fast and make sure that you are right with God and then command the demon to leave your house in the name of the Father, son and holy ghost. You need to have other believers there with you so that you will be stronger during this exorcism. I am only repeating what I have experienced myself and am not an expert.
