I suppose a dose is a word it does not show up on a spell check, so if someone mistypes it then it does not get noticed.
Also a lot of people don't pay attention to spelling these days, which is a shame. I think that as a dyslexic person I should not consider myself above average in spelling but when I am here it often seems I am.

Some of them could be typos that are missed because it seems about fifty percent of the people don't use the check spelling feature here. I also think some people just don't care what impression they make with poor spelling and grammar. I teach English and stress the importance of both, but the response I frequently get is it doesn't matter since all computers have spell and grammar check. That said, I wonder if people don't know how to use either of them.

The idea of this site is to get a individual message across and and provide a personal view on what others are thinking through answering questions on a variety of subjects. This web site is not a schoolroom or place to be criticised be cause like me you are dyslexic. Spell bullies are becoming a nuisance to the community as a whole and it is time the rest of the webs community got together to remove the bullies from the site. I suggest the action to take is take their identity list it with others and simply do not answer any of their questions. Has anyone got any better ideas

.People spell as they hear.My spelling is awful.I use the spell check and am often astounded by my mistakes. It is just not my forte.I do not even learn by my mistakes I make the same ones over and over again.I am quite well educated but just can not get my head round spelling. Please do not try and make a political thing about this by trying to blame the education system.I have recently been working in a junior school and the teaching methods for reading were excellent.-------- just did a spell check and got it right ,must be a first.

There is no excuse for it these days, it seems that every other person these days is "dyslexic", when I was a kid, it existed but was very rare.
I try to get it right but sometimes fall down, however if in doubt I always use the spell check.
I think it is pure idleness and couldn't care less, grammar and punctuation is appalling too, sometimes it is extremely difficult to understand what someone has written.
What annoys me is the fact that people can't be bothered to present themselves properly and that annoys me more than if they have a genuine problem,
particular hates of mine are things like "loose" instead of "lose"
or "there" instead of "they are" or even "their" but I think the most annoying is using "YOUR" instead of "YOU ARE or YOU'RE"

I think its an easy mistake to make when you are typing the word. Sometimes you hit the letters in the wrong order. If everyone and everything was perfect, what a boring world it would be!!

Why can people not spell?
That is really shitty prose.
As for 'A simple word like does." : this is totally unintelligable and incomplete.
Then we have "So many people spell it as dose".....spell what dear? Would it be possible to include a proper subject?
In the last line, I'll let you off with missing out the comma after the word 'world.'
Now go back to school and continue your education for the rest of your life, because you need it.
As to why people are unable to spell, I have absolutely no idea.

I asked a similar question about the spell check and got a few people slating me - a lot of it is basic education

I think it's laziness. People don't really care if things are spelled correctly (I feel the same way you do, plus I am kind of that way with grammar, too). Plus, I guess they just assume that their point will get across regardless so what's the point in proofreading? grr...
