carp have a good sense of taste and smell, so use corn as bait. throw your bait, corn, to the deepest part of the lake and let it sit. good luck.

I live in the U.S.A. but here my favorite Carp bait is Velveeta Brand Cheeze. It's a soft yellow cheeze.Make up a bunch of little cheeze balls & roll them in garlic powder.Use a trebble hook with a small spring on the shaft. That helps keep the cheeze on the hook. Good luck. I accept e-mails.Let me know if it works there as good as it does here.

I have most luck with halibut pellets but im not sure if they have them in australia?, if not use boiles or sweetcorn. Also check the lake out before you set up and see if you can see any movement in the water, as carp usually travel in groups and tend to stick to the same areas of the lake. They often tend to hang arouned reeds and liliy beds and more shaded areas. Good luck with the comp.

....as most fishermen are liars......lol
let me tell you the truth.....................
Cornmeal not flour......cherry gelatin jello..
boil the jello as per box instructions.........
add corn meal slowly as it thickens.........careful not to burn or scorch..
constantly stirring......when all the moisture is absorbed ..remove from heat..let cool ...make quarter to half dollar sized balls...
use a treble hook if allowed....I usually put on two hooks to increase the laws of average..
heavy rod....20lb test...once you place the rod in a secure position on the bank...let the bait sink to the bottom.....tighten your line ....and place a small ball near the end of the rod tip and this will be your indicator of a bite from the carp....watch for the line to tighten and the cornmeal on the line to rise slowly.....as the carp is a bottom feeder and its lips are situated as under lips he has a tendency to suck his feed off the bottom instead of extreme strikes...
but be careful we have lost rods with one great pull.......sit and watch close!!!
Take care have fun enjoy the sun!!!!!

Use canned corn and a size six, steel, barbed hook. They feed off the bottom and that size hook and bait is easy for them to suck up.The barbed hook keeps the corn on.
