The link below is the NRA-ILA's page on Florida's gun laws. I don't see anything about a waiting period specifically for new residents, only for anyone who doesn't have a concealed carry permit.

for handguns...yes.....you have to be a resident of Florida for a minimum of a year and be over 21 years of age and wait the normal 3 days for back-round check. For rifles and shotguns there's no waiting period for either residents or non-residents. You can also download the laws as a PDF file by going here....www.myfwc.com
