SOmetimes it is impossible to forget but what you can do is accept that it happened and find a way to live with it. One way I have found to deal with it, is making new happy memories to dwell on and when the bad memories try to peep in I push it away and look at the good ones.

Your bad memories are just as important as your good memories because together they help form who you are and how you deal with life situations. You learn a lot more life lessons from bad things than from good. So instead of trying to forget the bad things, use them to your benefit so that you don't make the same mistakes that were made before...the ones that give you the bad memories.

We don't forget our bad memories, we just learn not to focus on them because there's always more good in our lives than bad. If we dwell on the negative things they will continue to hurt us even if those things happened long, long ago. We can choose which things we focus our attention on so that the past does not forever hold us hostage.

You can try and forget your bad memories but if its not meant for you to do that ..then you wont forget them. Most bad memories we learn and grow from because most are caused by bad actions we have commited ourselves

bad memories rarely go away - but, as time goes by and we get more and more good memories we don't think about the bad ones so much. so, even though they hurt when we think about them, if we concentrate on what's making us happy in life now the bad doesn't seem quite as bad as when it happened.
