I believe intelligence is usually genetic, if not always.
It could come from your parents, it could skip a generation or two... who knows? It could come from a long recessive gene, as in a hundred years... again, who knows?
I do not know what my father's registered IQ was but I know mine is registered as quit high. I believe he was pretty much like I am.

Its a tough question to answer. I have not yet read one study that attempted to test this without flaws. The problem comes that generally the smart the parents, the more they make at work. The more they make at work, the nicer area they live in. The nicer area and more money leads to private schools or atleast better schools and more books on their book shelf at home and etc. Their children will test out higher on average then the poor.
Now the problems comes when you try to split nature from nurture in this situation.
opps, I did read one thing about identical twins sharing similar intellegence and aptitudes even though they were separated at birth. The test group was very small but it showed that genes could potentially carry a range that you are supposed to be inbetween while your environment provides the rest.

My opinion. Yes, BUT it is the genes that you inherit from them and the combination of genes. It is not necessarily be the best of intelligent genes.

Well i guess it could be, but i know that a lot of people have higher or lower then their parents too, so in a why i would say not, and in another way i would say yes , it would be how much time they spend with you, and taught you when you were young, even now.

i imagine that if both your father and mom were hella dumb then the youngster will finally end up more desirable stupid. the youngster should not be uncovered to sensible concepts, vocabulary or enriching studies. 70% of a youngster's studying ability is determined through 5 yrs previous. this can propose in the previous they began kidnergarten so i imagine the dumb father and mom ought to play sufficient of a function to stay away from the youngster's finished ability.

A part of it. Your gene pool dictates a big deal of "built in" habilities and capabilities you actually have. The rest is up to you, in terms of using or discard them. Education, training, hard work, determination and your environment gives you the rest.
