does it really matter what superstition people practice, as long as it's harmless to others.
some believe they eat the flesh and drink the blood of their God, others believe God throws lightnings when angry, and others think he keeps a harem of 70 virgins.
it's only those who go out and harm others that should be disposed of.

The Elohim in the Book, and the We in the Quran are the Powers and Principalities. Some are faithful to Allah, some have
been corrupted by thier power, as the nature of power is to
corrupt.
There are gods many. And there are rulers over different parts of our world, and places in the Universe. All beings deserve honor
and repsect. The error is to start worshipping any being that
comes from a higher level than ours.

What a cool question. Any kind of classical gods/goddesses - the Greek precise ten of Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Apollo, Aphrodite, Artemis, Hades, Ares, Hermes and Athena? Or their Roman names of Jupiter, Juno, Neptune, (no longer particular about Apollo), Venus, (again no longer particular about Artemis), Pluto, Mars, Mercury and Minerva? there is continually Mithras, quite a lot abandoned because the autumn of the Western Roman Empire. Or the pantheon of Egyptian gods along with your Osiris, Horus, Ra, Anubis, Isis, Set etc. you should even try a Norse god like Loki or Thor. Or the stunning in Biblical paganism, Baal. good luck along with your new god ;)

Actually its quite interesting to learn about the Greek and Roman gods. All gods are myths of course but at least the ancient gods were not condemning of everything and everybody like a particular god people worship now.

I think it has something to do with archeology the unearthing of the ancient ruins in search of their treasures and a knowledge of their way for solving problems and also their genealogies, which cause the up rise of the spirit at rest.as a means to thrust humanity further into the future they tend to go back to the past first.the upturning of stones.even though it may not be seen as grave robbing it may just be that.

Perhaps people are finding the new "God" isn't to their liking and are deciding to explore the older Gods and Goddesses to see if that is a path more agreeable to them. In my opinion, everyone should have the right to chose what religion they want to follow.

People do funny things, don't they?

Do they think they actually know the proper ceremonies and culture?

Human beings sometimes have an obsession to be something they're not, and so they look around and find a mask or costume to wear, and the entire charade is meaningless.

People are learning that there are thousands of older gods and goddesses from which to choose, and they aren't limited to worshiping a newer one who drowns and slaughters babies.
