no i,m not proud to be a hindu when a hindu kills a sikh in 1984 riot, no i,m not a proud hindu when he kills a muslim in 2002 gujrat riot, no i,m not a proud hindu when i find a news paper materomonial column demanding for a fair and homely girl of same cast and region,no i,m not a proud hindu when i see opression of Dalits in the case like kahairlanji, no i,m not a proud hindu when a certain cast people are not allowed to enter a certain temple, no i,m not a proud hindu when i find a girl is burnt in the name of dowry, the list can go on and on but yet i,m proud to be a hindu because:-
it,s tolerance and patience nature towards other relligion,
i,m proud to be a Hindu when i saw a muslim to be a president of India and a sikh to be the primminister,
Yes i,m proud when i saw in a hindu majority sate a muslim is a superstar.
yes i,m proud to see the freedom it gives to it,s followers regarding practice of the dharma
yes i,m proud that by and large India is a secular state , because it has Hindu majority
yes i,m proud to be a Hindu as it is the oldest survived relligion on the earth and it has no monolithic approach towards it,s relligion.
the list can go on and on as i have stated earlier, so i must stop here .
coming to the point no i,m not a proud Hindu when you reffer it as a relligion, as it can offend others and Hinduism is not this to me.
but i,m a proud hindu when you take it as a way of life ,not as a relligion.

Certainly not, I'm an indian first & my religion is humanity. not hindu, sikh cristianity......etc. Such kind of slogan always try to creates a barrier among us. Religion formation is only a people classification as per their religion, region, nature of work. Infact religion are our roots that taughts us a lesson of humanity first & rest second. One should proudly say that we are Indian Not Hindu, Muslim,,,,,,etc.
None other nation as India having a different diversified culture. Indian young generation beleives in unity & peace but not rights & powers.Afterall this barriers are for selfish reason. Henceforth its all our duty to avoide or clarify those barriers that misguide us.
so say I'm an Indian & spread this slogan "we are proud to be an Indian". We should follow the message given by Our President Dr APJ Kalam sir to make India a great nation.

Yes. I do agree that every individual (not just Hindus) should be proud of their religion. Religion is nothing but your faith. Your way of life that you believe in. So, no one should feel bad to say that he/she is proud to be part of that religion.
I am indeed proud to be an HINDU. It had taught me the value of prayer, tolerance towards other religions, respect for other humans beings and respect for mother nature.
I feel, that one who has not learnt the above qualities cannot call himself to be a HINDU.

Definitely, there is no shame in feeling pride in one's religion. India, being a democratic country, gives its citizens full right to practise and spread any religion of their choice....provided they do it through peaceful means.
But again, one needs to be careful. The slogan above has nothing wrong about it. In fact, it is a good thing that in this age of westernization, we have kept our roots intact. But there is a fine line between proclaiming your religious belief and exhibitionism...........
So, garv karo ke tum hindu ho, zarur karo, par dusre dharmon ko bhi space do!
