Blu-ray is the next evolution of the dvd and is no more durable or different in how it looks.
Major difference is the amount of data it holds (aprox 50gb) versus dvd (8.5gb) - will allow high defiinition movies and sound to be recorded

A standard DVD disc employs a red laser to either write data, or read data. The new Blu-Ray uses a blue-violet laser, which has a shorter wave length, therefore the picture is clearer. I'm afraid that's the extent of my knowledge on that subject, except there is a way to make Blu-Ray reversely compatable with CD/DVD format, I just don't know what that is yet.As far as being more durable, I don't think so. Just clearer.

they don't seem to be extra mushy, it isn't the term, they're basically not likely good in DVD, remember that's a backward nicely suited element. it will be a super blu ray participant and probably basically an ok DVD participant. there's a fastened cost variety for this participant, and that they are going to spend the money on the blu ray playback ability first. So it is totally usual that it would look fussy with DVDs which have scratches or smudges on them. My committed CD participant can push by way of some discs that I unquestionably have which have some extremely undesirable scratches. the comparable undesirable discs in my DVD participant won't even play.
