We are moving out of the country in 2 weeks and need to sell our car. Don't particularly want to have to lose quite so much money by selling to dealer, but don't have lots of time to spend on lots of ads, viewings etc.... I'm based in the South East.

The average car payment is about 600 a month. Refinancing shouldn't be an option due to the fact you will be stuck with a vehicle even longer than planned. I'm guessing since it's 2005 you've got about 60,000 miles or more, so no one is going to give you 20k for it. Here's were the problem started, you took out a loan on (I'm guessing a used vehicle) for 5/6 years because the salesman/finance guy convinced you that you could only afford it that way. After a vehicle hits a 5 year mark or 60,000 miles the value disintergrates immensely, then another big dump on the value. The dealer is only going to hurt you more than help you. You're only saving grace may be to find a large SUV, whether it's with Honda or not, with an extremely large rebate. For every 1000 you finance you should expect to pay 20 a month. Good luck in your hunt.

A popular car chain in the south east is Car Max. They specialize in used cars. They should pay you more for the car than a regular dealership.

EBay is quite good for cars, I bought mine from there and it's fab.

Just make sure you put everything in your description that's wrong with it, otherwise your buyer can refuse to buy.
